6. Color: Permanent colour can cause hairloss, irritation, redness and burning. Some people are allergic to colours and the reaction might be serious. If you are sensitive towards a particular product, do take the advise of you stylist. Always do a patch test before setting out to use a colour. Never apply colour to your eyebrows or eyelashes.
7. Dandruff: Dandruff are dead skin, and it often falls on a person's clothing which is very embarrassing. There are several reasons for dandruff, it can be the weather, diet, hair type, etc. Studies show it is caused by some kind of fungus but it is neither contagious or dangerous. Shampoos are available especially for dandruff containing salicylic acid, zinc, tars or selenium sulfide. While shampooing your hair, rub it for 5 minutes gently to loosen the dandruff flakes and then rinse the hair well. If the shampoo does not help, consult your doctor, he may prescribe a hair tonic.

There are medicines to cure baldness and make hair grow at a faster rate.
10. Diet: Diet is also an important consideration for teenagers, as this will have an impact on the amount of oil produced. Eat a balanced diet that is low in fats and sugars. Consume plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and avoid fast food and convenience foods. Also make sure you drink plenty of water, at this will help keep hair hydrated and looking silky and shiny. All vitamins are important, but Vitamin A is good for the skin and will encourage a healthy scalp.

Teenage Hair Care Tips:

  • Don't get impressed by the marketing of any new shampoo claiming to give shiny and healthy hair. Select the shampoo according to your hair type.
  • Get your dry hair and split ends trimmed regularly.
  • Make it a habit of brushing your hair before you get into bed.
  • Blow dry your hair only when it is needed as too much robs the hair of its natural oils.
  • Drink milk everyday. It is better for your health as well for your hair. After all, a healthy person reflects healthy hair.
  • Always cover your hair when it is exposed to the sun, wind or any other elements.
  • Massage your hair with an oil containing Vitamin E to stimulate blood circulation.
  • Washing hair with hot water or cold water is a very bad idea. Use normal temperature water.
