Different Moisturizers For Different Skin Types The moisturizer that's best for you depends on many factors, including your skin type, your age and whether you have specific conditions, such as acne. For general guidelines, consider the following: 1.Normal skin: Normal skin is neither too dry nor too oily. To maintain this natural moisture balance, use a water-based moisturizer that has a light, nongreasy feel. These moisturizers often contain lightweight oils, such as cetyl alcohol, or silicone-derived ingredients, such as cyclomethicone.
Homemade Moisturizers For Normal Skin: A.In an electric blender, blend 1 chopped, peeled peach with ¼ cup almond oil, 3 tablespoon rose water, 4 drops of tincture of benzoin, and (if desired) a few drops of orange oil or other perfume. Strain and store in the refrigerator. B.In the proportions of 3 tablespoons glycerin to 1 teaspoon honey, is recommended by modern skin-care experts as a wear all day or leave on night moisturizer. C.Take 5-6 drops of sweet almond oil; few drops of distilled water. Pour some water into your palm and mix with almond oil. Rub both hands together to mix. To protect your face apply it and get a good result. 2.Dry skin: To restore moisture to dry skin, choose a heavier, oil-based moisturizer that contains urea or propylene glycol — chemicals that help keep your skin moist. For very dry, cracked skin, oils are preferable. They have more staying power than creams do and are more effective at preventing water from evaporating from your skin. Homemade Moisturizer For Dry Skin Types: A.Apply olive oil or vitamin E oil on a thoroughly clean skin directly in the evening. B.Olive oil, lemon and eggs are a great natural skin moisturizer. Apply and let stand for 15 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water. Olive oil moisturizes and smoothes the skin. C.Coconut oil is rich with vitamins and fats that soften the skin. D.Cocoa butter combined with coconut oil protect the skin from wind and cold. This moisturizer creates a protective layer on the skin's surface. E.Sesame oil is also a good way to protect from damaging sunrays as it can be used as a natural sun blocker. F.Honey is a humectant which means it attracts and retains water, which moisturizes our skin. 3.Oily skin: Oily skin is prone to acne and breakouts. Though oily, such skin still needs moisture, especially after using skin-care products that remove oils and dry out the skin. In addition, a light moisturizer can help protect your skin after washing. Be sure to pick an oil-free, water-based product and look for products labeled "noncomedogenic," which means it won't clog pores. Homemade Moisturizers For Oily Skin:
A.Mix freshly grated apple with 5 tbsp honey and apply on face. Rinse after 10 minutes. B.Melt 2 tbsp beeswax gently in a non-metallic bowl over hot water. Stir in 3 /4 cup almond oil. Add a pinch of neem powder and a few drops of rose or jasmine essential oil. Whick until the mixture is soft. Allow to cool. C.Combine 2 tbsp grated beeswax with 1/4 cup distilled water and melt over low heat. When it is blended, pour it into a blender and blend on low speed. While the blender is still running, add gradually 1/2 cup almond oil, 1/4 cup rose water and 5 drops of galbanum essential oil and 4 drops of rose essential oil. The mix will look like frosting and will slowly thicken as it cools down. Pour it into a glass jar and use sparingly. This lotion can be used anywhere from 3-5 months, as long as it is kept in a cool and dry place. 4.Combination skin: Combination skin can be oily, normal, or dry, all at once or one or the other at random. Care for combination skin with a varied routine. Moisturize frequently with an oil-based moisturizer when skin is dry. When skin takes on an oily texture, switch to a water-based, gentle moisturizer. If skin shows signs of both types, seek a moisturizer made especially for combination skin.
Homemade Moisturizer For Combination Skin: A.Melt 2 tbsp beeswax gently in a non-metallic bowl over hot water. Stir in 3 /4 cup almond oil. Add a pinch of Sandalwood Powder or jasmine powder and a few drops of rose essential oil. Whick until the mixture is soft. Allow to cool. 5.Sensitive skin: Sensitive skin is susceptible to skin irritations, redness, itching or rashes. Use a moisturizer that doesn't contain potential allergens, such as fragrances or dyes, and is specifically designed for sensitive skin.
Homemade Moisturizers For Sensitive Skin: A.Mix 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 tablespoon coconut oil, 1 tablespoon vegetable oil with 2 tablespoons mashed strawberries and 1 or 2 drops vitamin E oil (optional). Apply on face and neck and leave for 10 minutes. Rinse. 6.Mature skin: As you age, your skin tends to become drier because your oil-producing glands become less active. To keep your skin soft and well hydrated, choose an oil-based moisturizer that contains petrolatum as the base, along with lactic acid or alpha hydroxy acids. These ingredients help hold in moisture and prevent flaky, scaly skin.
Homemade Moisturizers For Mature Skin: A.Mix 55g / 2 oz lanolin with 50 ml/2fl oz wheatgerm oil. Add a handful of fresh or dried calendula flowers and heat for approximately 2 hrs. Strain the liquid, add two capsules of vitamin E and leave to set in a jar. Use as an everyday moisturizer. B.Use 15ml/1 tbsp of a base oil, such as evening primrose or sweet almond oil, and add a drop of an essential oil such as frankincense, geranium, lavender, neroli (orange blossom), or sandalwood. Massage gently onto the skin taking care to avoid the eyes. C.Vitamin E is an important anti-ageing vitamin for the skin which can be applied externally or ingested. Massage the contents of a vitamin E capsule into your face. Massaging Your Moisturizer |
