Spa Party

Spa Home Party:
6. Spa Party Treatments:
Spa treatments chosen should depend upon factors such as your budget, availability of free time, proper planning and venue. If you do not have a budget constraint, you may hire professionals at home to perform short spa treatments at your house, or else you and your guests may choose to perform treatments on each other. Some treatments that you may like to include are:

I. Pedicure And Manicure:
Pedicure:

  1. Clean your old nail polish if any with a good Nail Remover. You should go for an natural, acetone-free, water based or mineral based Nail Polish Remover.
  2. Opt for a good foot soak. This will soften the feet and cuticles and will make them ready for a good pedicure.
  3. You may also have a relaxing massage of your tired feet.
  4. Clip your nails and shape your nails and cuticles.
  5. Give your nails a base coat and an even top coat of your favorite colored nail polish.

DIY Pedicure Recipes:

a. Lemon Verbena And Lavender Foot Bath:
Ingredients: 15g / 1/2 oz dried lemon verbena; 30ml / 2 tbsp dried lavender; 5 drops lavender essential oil; 30ml / 2 tbsp cider vinegar.
Put the lemon verbena and lavender into a basin and pour in enough hot water to cover the feet. When it has cooled add the lavender oil and cider vinegar. Sit down and immerse your feet in the bath for 15 minutes. After soaking your feet in a footbath for ten minutes, use a loofah or nail brush to scrub and deepcleanse, then use a pumice on the dead skin all over the soles of the feet. Pat them dry, then give your feet a quick massage using a blend of neroli and lemon essential oils well diluted in almond oil. Dry your feet thoroughly afterwards.

b. Mineral Rich Oatmeal Soak: This foot-bath feels particularly good because of the oatmeal's moisturising and softening properties.
Composition: 1 foot-bath tub; 1/2 cup / 120 ml very finely ground oatmeal; 1/4 cup / 60 ml white cosmetic clay; 5 drops geranium, lavender, or eucalyptus essential oil; pumice stone or foot file.
Yield: 1 treatment
Preparation:
- To make the ground oatmeal, put about 3/4 cup / 180 ml oatmeal into a food processor and process until the oats are of a powder-like consistency.
- Place a towel on the floor in front of the chair where one will be sitting to soak their feet. Pour enough water into the tub (whatever temperature is desired) so that ankles are covered. Slowly stir in the oatmeal and clay until dissolved, then add essential oil if desired.
Application:
- Soak feet for at least 10 to 15 minutes or until the calluses are soft.
- Very gently scrub the calluses and / or corns with the pumice stone or file just until the top layer of tough dead skin has been removed.
- Rinse, and then roughly dry with a coarse towel.
- Apply a heavy cream.
Caution: Do not allow any guest with Diabetes to go for a foot-bath or soak.
