How To Apply Makeup

5. Apply eye make-up:
You should decide in advance how many colours of eye shadow you are going to use. Choose the prime colour first, then apply it to the whole of your eyelid as this is going to be the colour that will stand out the most. Apply a lighter colour eye shadow above this colour and below the eyebrow, the entire area should be covered.

Eyeliner is important, it comes in liquid form and also as a pencil. The first step is to draw a fine line as close to the eyelashes as possible, from the inner eye going outwards. If you find it difficult to complete in one stroke, then do it in short strokes. If you want a dramatic look, then you can apply it to the lower lashes too.

Mascara is the third step to eye make-up. Invest in an eyelash curler if you want perfect results and if you are not blessed with curly eyelashes. While applying mascara, do not pump the wand into the tube as it air is pushed into the container and it dries up the mascara in the container. Instead, just insert the wand into the container gently and turn it about a couple of times before pulling it out.

Apply the mascara to your lashes by running it along the lashes, that is away from your face. Apply two coats and allow to dry. This will make your lashes to appear thick. After that, comb the eyelashes to avoid clump to form, this will separate the eyelashes and make them appear fuller.

6. Apply blusher:
First, determine the shape of your face. Concentrate blush on the middle of your face for high cheekbones. For a round face, a dusty pink or rose blush on the outer portion of the face near the hairline has a good effect. Smile into the mirror to find the apples of your cheeks, then blush on them, towards the hairline. Keep in mind there should not be any line or patch of colour on the cheeks, it should blend well.

Sweep powder blush in only one direction and dust off excess powder blush. If you are applying cream blush, then put a dot on the cheek and blend very well. Adding a hint of shimmering blush on the highest point of the cheek can make the effect dramatic. For perfect results, the correct blush brush is required. Find the correct blush brush according to your cheek size for correct application. A large size brush gives you a professional finish one which is dome-shaped and has generous fibers. Use a good set of blush brushes for correct application. Using compact blush brush will not give you the correct look as it is too small and the bristles are not shaped properly. Do not use the same brush for blusher which you use to apply powder.

7. Apply lip liner and lipstick:
Lips are the most attractive and sensual feature of a woman’s face and draws a lot of attention. So application of lipstick should be given careful attention. The lip liner helps to give your lips a defined edge and decides the shape of your lips. Though you can use lip liner as an option, but if it is applied, it should be put before the lipstick. The lip liner helps to keep the lipstick from smudging and in place and guides you in applying lipstick.

Use a lip liner that is neutral or matches your lipstick colour. It can also be a shade or two darker than your lipstick colour. Do not use a lip liner the same colour as your lipstick because if the lipstick comes off, you will be left with just the liner on your lips, which will look odd. To start with, you have to draw a line from the center of the upper lip to the corner of the edges, following the line of your natural lips or shaping the lips the way you want them to appear. To make the edges seem sharper, keep the lip liner in the refrigerator and then use.

After that, apply a little moisturizer to your lips, it will soften your lips and help the lipstick to glide on easily. Dust a coat of powder on your lips to make lipstick last longer, therefore apply foundation on your lips. This will act as a base for your lipstick. While applying your lipstick, relax your mouth and start from the middle of your lips, going towards the edges. The colour should be inside the lip liner, so don’t hurry up with your lipstick. It is a good idea to apply lip gloss after lipstick, this will keep your lip colour strong. If you want your lip colour to last longer, then gently press against a tissue in such a way that it does not smudge or remove too much of the lipstick. Then finish off by applying another coat of lipstick. To prevent the lipstick from sticking to your teeth, insert a finger inside your mouth and move it out slowly. This will also remove the excess lipstick from your lips.

Follow these make-up tips step by step and end up looking nothing less than spectacular.
