Dry Lips

Make Up For Dry Lips:

  • A deep penetrating moisturizer creates a barrier which keeps the lips soft and hydrated. Since your lips don’t have oil glands, the best way is to keep it moisturized.
  • It is advisable to use a humidifier in the bedroom and office at all times, it adds moisture to the room and to your body if you are there.
  • As often as you can, use a lip mask with an ultra thick layer of balm, like Vaseline or Aquaphor. Leave it on your lips for few minutes then remove it with tissue. It gets rid of the flaky skin and leaves the lips nice and soft.
  • Use glosses or lips balms with ingredients like shea butter beeswax, with cadelilla and carnauba.
  • Use a cream based lipstick which has moisturizer in it, Vitamin E, lavender oil and macadamia oil, this will keep your lips soft. But if you want to use a matte lipstick which is dry, use a lip gloss to coat it.
  • Vaseline is very vital for dry lips as the oil gets absorbed in the lips and protects it from further damage, it can also be used before applying lipstick.

Make Up Tips For Dry Lips:

  • Before you retire to bed, you should apply Vaseline on your lips, it keeps the lips soft and it works wonders.
  • Keep a soft toothbrush for your lips to exfoliate them. When you have left over Vaseline or moisturizer already on your lips, lightly brush the surface of your lips to remove dry or dead skin. If you do it while you have Vaseline or moisturizer it will come off easily but if you wait to do it when your lips are dry, then it wont help.
  • Use a lip balm which has SPF protection and which is water resistant and has long lasting properties. Too much of sun exposure to the lips will make it sore, cut, dry and chapped since the lip skin is very thin and delicate. And since you don’t want a lip tan since it makes lipstick application a nightmare, use a lip balm, which will protect your lips from the elements of nature at all times.
  • If you have dry lips, being the results of drooling at night, then use zinc oxide ointment that acts as a protective agent.
  • Use milk cream or clarified butter on your lips if they are too chapped and dry.
  • Straight away after a shower, use a lip balm on your lips to seal the moisture within.
