Seasonal Makeup

Change of seasons call for a change in makeup routine too. What seems good for one season does not necessarily mean good for all; whether it is a transition from summer to autumn or autumn to fall and secret is change. A winter makeup will look and prove very laughable during monsoon while a summer makeup will leave a person pale and colorless during winters. All seasons have a unique style statement that may look totally out of place in another.

Summer Makeup:
Is the time you give your body a healthy tan in order to protect it from the clutches of sunburns, dry lips and skin-scorched skin cancer. There are some makeup mishaps that could occur in summer sun and a relaxing beach noon that we do not pay heed and attention to. Summer make up should be minimal. To even out your skin tone, use foundation by applying it with a sponge. It will be applied evenly and no streaks can ruin the look. Now these are the do’s and don’t’s that you should follow during summer season.

Summer Makeup Tips:

  • Do not use lip liner.

  • Using translucent powder is good for the right summer look.
  • Golden green and mango green can be used for the eyes, with the combination of brown or black mascara.
  • As we all know, hair frizzes in the summer heat. So use deep conditioners and protect your hair from the harsh heat by wearing a hat or a baseball cap, wax and texturizers also help to tame frizzy hair.
  • Use gold shimmer under eyebrows or on the cheeks, will make you look cool.
  • In case your skin has been destroyed by the summer heat, use a foundation with the shade of your tanned skin to cover the area under your eyes and blend it well with the rest of the face. To give them a natural look, use nude or a light shade of lipstick.
  • For a beautiful looking tan, use light shade of bronzer on cheekbones and chin.
  • To avoid any blisters sprinkle your feet with powder. If you still feel the skin of your feet being rubbed against the shoe, protect the sensitive area with a bandage before the blister forms. To get rid of the blister, take a clean needle and pop the blister, but not before sanitizing it with dettol and use cotton to clean any fluid that comes out of it. Apply an antibiotic ointment without trying to scrape off the skin and then cover the area with a bandage.
  • Sunglasses protect your eyes but the rest of your face is exposed to the sun, resulting in eyes with paler skin around it than the rest of the face. To avoid getting sun burnt, generously rub sunscreen with SPF 30 with a broad spectrum over your entire face and body every two hours.
  • The sheer pastel, beige and pink nail polish become a yellowish tint after being exposed to sun for two days or more. To avoid this, use a clear nail gloss with inbuilt UV protection topcoat and do not forget to rub sunscreen on nails too after every two hours, just like the rest of your body.
  • Use eyeliner in different shades of grey and navy blue.
  • Use gel on your hair and fresh triple blade razors to get rid of bikini line to avoid any unsightly rashes. You can use 1% hydrocortisone cream to any rash to cure it and hide any redness in the area by using tinted facial moisturizer. Power gives relief to itchiness.
  • Warm blond and naturally medium brown hair with highlights may change to coppery shades in sun due to oxidation. Thus, always wear a hat or scarf when you go outdoors. Hair color gloss can help you to get the shine back into your hair.
  • While going out to the beach wear only natural nude shades. If you want to wear liquid lipstick while going out or while on the honeymoon in a tropical island, keep it inside the cooler for your soda or carry it in a pot. If your bullet is going soft, try to cool it a little by placing it in a fridge or near an air conditioner.
