Techniques Of Ayurvedic Massage:
In an ayurvedic massage the massage oils rubbed over the body, long enough for the nutrients from the oil to penetrate into the skin. The massage motions are directed upwards, and it is administered with the help of finger and palm postures. The massage concentrates on the muscles rather than the bones. Massage should be avoided in times of fever along with perturbation in the body related to Kapha.

1. Sneha Karma: Sneha Karma is an ayurvedic massage therapy and is an introductory procedure to the Panchkarma. This induces suppleness in the body. In ayurvedic terms a man who is exhausted is compared to a dry stick, that is brittle, however the application of oil renders the body supple. Sneha Karma therapy can be administered either by the use of oily substances internally or by using them externally in the form of oil massage.

  1. Abhyanga massage is a traditional massage therapy that is used by practitioners of Ayurveda to treat their clients. The massage involves a whole-body treatment wherein the entire body is massaged with Ayurveda oils such as warm sesame oil or medicated oils. Smooth, gentle movements are employed to rub the oil deeply into the body. The massage can be administered by one or two individuals.
  2. The oils that are employed in the course of the massage depends upon the psychosomatic constitution of the massage recipient and takes place for about an hour or a little less.
  3. This massage system is meant for wellness, which results in the increment of life span along with better vision and better function parameters of the body.
  4. According to a formal principle of Ayurveda, every individual is born with a particular body type characterized by a “Dosha” and treatments are formulated on the basis of individual requirements.
  5. According to the principle of Ayurveda the Abhyanga massage is supposed to be taken in the morning and is different from western massage techniques.

  8. The effectiveness of the Abhyanga massage is created when pressure is applied on certain pressure points called the “marmas “.
  9. The best way to balance the Vata dosha is through Abhyanga massage. The Vata dosha is part of those people who are very agile and slender in body composition.
