Makeup Basics

Being considered beautiful today no longer means conforming to one accepted ideal. The contemporary approach to beauty places the emphasis firmly on the individual and her own particular needs, aspirations and lifestyle. For instance, the make-up needs of a blue-eyed blonde are not the same as those of a blue-eyed blonde are not the same as those of a dark-eyed woman with an Oriental skin-tone. It is a fact that make-up can enhance a person’s features. If it is applied with a sensitive touch it should create a subtle emphasis, rather than a mask disguising the features. Many women are cautious of cosmetics because they are not sure which colours suit them or which make-up methods and textures are the most flattering. Good make-up hinges on experience: you learn what suits you by trial and error. Nobody wants to waste money on a lipstick that turns out to be the wrong colour when you try it at home, but it’s easy to get stuck in a rut- so be brave and experiment a little. The marvellous thing about beauty is that no matter how you look naturally, how puffy-eyed, spotty-skinned or limp-haired, with the right equipment and the right techniques you can improve yourself. And with that improvement comes increased self-confidence and self-love, two of the most beautiful and important qualities any woman can possess.

How To Know The Product:
No two women are alike. When we are buying a pair of jeans, we don’t just pick the same size, colour and pair as our sister, because we have different requirements. Make-up is the same. We need to choose carefully from the vast array of products and formulations around to create a look that’s made-to-measure for our own complexions and features. Simply buying the most expensive product on the shelves is no guarantee of success, as it may not be the most suitable for your colouring or skin type.

Tailor – Made Make Up:
The perfect make-up for you will be effortless once you choose the correct shades for your skin tone and hair colour. It will also work wonderfully, because you will still look like you, only better. Checking your hair colour is easy – whether it is natural or comes out of a bottle. Deciding whether your skin is ‘warm’ or ‘cool’ seems slightly more difficult, however, there is an easy way to check. Simply look in a mirror and hold a piece of gold and a piece of silver in front of your face. These can just as easily be pieces of foil or costume jewellery as the real thing. The right metal will bring a healthy glow to your skin, whereas the wrong will make it look grey. If gold suits your skin, then it’s ‘warm’ toned. If silver suits it, it’s ‘cool’ toned. A further clue is how well you tan in the sun – cool skin tones tend to colour less easily. When you go to any beauty counter and you will see there are hundreds of eye, lip and nail colours to choose from. Which one you pick can make an enormous difference, a shade that is wrong for you can make you look pale and washed out. On mature skins it can highlight wrinkles and age you by years. Knowing how to choose the right hues for you is vital to help yourself look your best. Now you know that you can wear any colour you want, as long as you pick the right shade. You need to know two things for this. The first is the hair colour, the one which you choose over the one you were born with. The lighter the colour of your hair, the lighter the shade that will suit you and it goes the same with a darker shade. The second is your skin tone which helps to reveal what shades of a colour will suit you best.
