Pre Exercise Care

More Warm Ups:

Warm up exercises consisting of stretching and flexibility exercises, should be performed before the main exercise. Examples of some are below:
Stretches for side of the neck:

  • Stand or sit with arms hanging loosely by the sides.
  • Turn the head to one side, then to the other.
  • Hold each side for 5 seconds each.
  • Repeat this 1 to 3 times.

Stretches for back of neck:

  • Sit or stand with arms hanging loosely by the sides.
  • Gently tilt head forward to stretch back of the neck.
  • Hold in same position for 5 seconds.
  • Repeat this 1 to 3 times.

Stretches side of shoulder and back of upper arm:

  • Stand or sit and place right hand on left shoulder.
  • With the left hand, pull right elbow across chest towards left shoulder and hold for 10 to 15 seconds.
  • Repeat on other side.
